Remote MikroTik access from Android: Quick Access and VPN

Saving a router's private IP address does not make it reachable when your phone leaves the local network. Remote management needs a working path to that router. Shabakat provides supported Quick Access and VPN workflows according to the device, service and account plan.

Three different connection paths

Local access uses an address reachable through the phone's current network. Quick Access uses the remote service configured for that router. A VPN provides a network route according to its configuration. Success through one path does not prove that every service or management port is available through another.

Prepare access while you can still reach the router

Begin through a working connection, open the remote access options and select a supported service. Complete setup and check the reported connection state. Keep a working management route while you test the alternative so that an incomplete setup does not leave you without a way back in.

Test from a different network

After setup, connect from outside the router's local network and verify the router identity in the app. Try the operation you need, such as reading resources or opening the user list. An installed status alone is not evidence that all remote requests succeed under current network conditions.

RouterOS v6 and v7 compatibility

Do not assume the same VPN method is available on every RouterOS release. Use options supported by the device and the app's access screen. API access and WinBox may also use different addresses or ports, so verify the intended service rather than copying a port from a different connection type.

Troubleshoot the path before reinstalling

Check internet access on both ends, service state, destination address, port and account permissions. If local login succeeds but Quick Access fails, investigate the remote path. If the VPN connects but another port is unavailable, test that specific service rather than treating the entire router as offline.

Trial and free account behavior

Remote services depend on account entitlements. After the trial, VPN and Quick Access require an active subscription; supported local management remains available on the free plan. Check the subscription screen before reinstalling a service to solve an access refusal caused by the account plan.
